About MSP Target
The Right Technology.
Not More Technology.
MSP Target exists to help customers make better technology decisions—not maximize the number of products sold.
Sometimes the right decision is to purchase something new. Sometimes it is to replace an unsuitable solution, consolidate overlapping products, or make better use of existing investments.
And sometimes the right decision is to keep what already works.
We believe a recommendation to buy nothing can be a successful outcome.
Why MSP Target Exists
Technology decisions are often spread across supplier websites, partner conversations, contracts, and disconnected records. Customers should not need to understand every part of the technology channel to explain what their business needs.
Our purpose is to bring customer needs, supplier information, partner capabilities, and commercial relationships into a clearer conversation—without confusing a possible fit with permission to sell.
Start With the Customer. Not the Product.
The business problem comes first. The appropriate outcome may be to:
- Retain.
- Keep technology that meets the need.
- Optimize.
- Make better use of capabilities already owned.
- Consolidate.
- Assess whether overlapping products can be simplified without losing necessary capabilities.
- Complement.
- Consider capabilities that work alongside existing investments.
- Replace.
- Explore alternatives when a solution no longer fits.
Overlapping features do not automatically make a product unnecessary. Integrations, security requirements, contracts, and business processes may justify keeping both.
When the available information is insufficient, the responsible next step is to learn more—not manufacture a recommendation.
More technology is not automatically better. Less technology is not automatically better. Better fit is what matters.
A Better Connection Across the Technology Channel
For Customers
Our aim is to help customers communicate their business needs, understand relevant options, and connect with technology partners suited to the work required.
Our broader vision includes helping organizations understand their existing technology investments, assess potential overlap and gaps, and make better-informed decisions about what comes next.
For Partners
Partners include MSPs, Technology Advisors, and other organizations that help customers assess, deliver, and support technology. Our aim is to make relevant capabilities and responsibilities clearer while respecting the customer relationship.
For Suppliers
Our aim is to help suppliers explain where their solutions fit, who they serve, and what partners need to understand—not assume that every customer needs another product.
For Distributors
Technology Services Distributors (TSDs) and other distributors help the channel navigate supplier relationships and commercial routes. Our aim is to make those roles and requirements clearer, without implying authorization or affiliation.
Relationships, Independence, and Trust
Customers should control which partner they engage and what information they share. An existing trusted technology partner should remain involved when the customer chooses.
Respecting an existing relationship does not mean preserving it at the expense of the customer’s needs. When requirements are not being met, customers should be able to explore alternatives with clear information and control over the decision.
Coverage is free. Commercial activation is paid. Payment never buys credibility, organic ranking, supplier visibility preference, or preferred opportunity routing.
A directory listing is not proof of participation, endorsement, verification, or sales authorization. A solution suggestion is not automatically an opportunity registration or permission to share customer information with a supplier.
Recommendations should explain the information behind them, preserve uncertainty, and support a decision—not claim authority over it.
What We’re Building Toward
Planned capability: get more value from the technology you already own. Our vision includes helping customers identify potential overlap, complementary tools, unused capabilities, and gaps across their technology stack.
Portfolio assessment, automated recommendations, broader partner matching, geographic coverage, and renewal intelligence are part of this vision—not available features promised by this page.
This vision guides our development. Current capabilities, access requirements, and planned functionality should be identified separately in our product information.
We will not present a future capability as an available feature.
Our Commitment
MSP Target exists to help the technology channel deliver the right technology—not simply more technology.
